Bedminster Citizens for Sustainable Growth is an all-volunteer, 501(c)(3) charitable organization.

The group was formed around December 2012, after the Piper Group laid out preliminary plans for developing land it owns in Pipersville and on Bucks Road in the township. The Piper Group also said it would not build on another plot of land it owns on Kellers Church Road, in return for permission to build more homes at the other locations, including Pipersville, where the Piper Group has tried to develop the same site previously.

At a special planning commission meeting, residents spoke out against the plan, especially because the land that would have been protected on Kellers Church Road adjoins the developer's own residence. The board of supervisors, who sat in the audience during that planning meeting, clearly decided residents didn't like the plan. The Piper Group was advised to come up with a new plan.

The new Bedminster Citizens for Sustained Growth is growing out of that meeting and the belief that developers will continue to offer plans here as the economy recovers. Residents need a strong voice and watchdog to represent homeowners. Bedminster Twp. has fought developers in the past. Will they in the future? That's why we exist.
